فوجينون XF 400mm F4.5 R LM OIS WR

I was skeptical about shooting a 600mm lens handheld all day, but at just 2.7 pounds it’s genuinely easy to carry through a whole hike. The weather sealing gave me confidence when a sudden drizzle started, and the focus ring is buttery smooth.

The OIS is a lifesaver for handheld shots at this focal length, and the f4.5 aperture handles low light beautifully. It's surprisingly light for a 400mm, making it easy to carry on long walks without a tripod.

I've been shooting handheld all afternoon and the weight is honestly the first thing I notice—1.25kg means I can track birds for hours without my arm shaking. The OIS is steady enough that I even got crisp shots at slower shutter speeds than I'd ever try with a lens this long.
