How to Install the CVR-XH Cover Kit

Clean the camera surfaces: Use a soft, dry cloth or a blower to remove any dust or grit from the sync terminal, hot shoe, grip terminal, cooling fan port, and memory card slot. Dirt trapped under a cover can cause scratches. Skipping this step may lead to fine scratches on the camera body.
Attach the hot shoe cover: Slide the hot shoe cover into the camera's hot shoe slot from the front until it clicks or fits snugly. It protects the electrical contacts when you are not using a flash or accessory. Always align the cover with the slot grooves—forcing it can bend the contacts.
Insert the sync terminal cover: Press the small round cover into the sync terminal (PC port) on the front of the camera. A gentle push should seat it firmly. This prevents moisture and debris from entering the flash sync connection. Check that the cover sits flush; a loose cover can fall off during handling.
Cover the file transmitter / battery grip terminal: Locate the rectangular port on the bottom or side of the camera (depending on your model) and snap the corresponding cover into place. This port is used for the vertical battery grip or file transmitter, so protect it when not in use. If you plan to use a grip later, store this cover in a safe place—it is easy to lose.
Seal the cooling fan terminal: Find the cooling fan terminal cover and press it over the port on the camera's back or side (near the EVF area on X-H2S). This keeps dust out of the ventilation area when the fan is not attached. Do not cover this port while the fan is installed—it is designed for active cooling.
Close the memory card slot cover: If your memory card slot cover is separate from the kit, insert the provided cover into the slot opening and press until it clicks. For cameras with a built-in door, simply close it securely. Using the kit's dedicated cover adds an extra layer of protection if the original door is damaged or lost.
